New brief therapy aims to curb suicide in hospitalized mood disorder patients

Summary
This study tests whether a short, enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (E-BCBT) can reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors in people hospitalized for mood disorders. About 30 participants will either receive five therapy sessions during their stay or standard care. Researchers will track suicide attempts and thoughts for three months after discharge to see if the therapy helps.
