New breathing method during back surgery may reduce lung damage

Summary

This study looks at whether a new, personalized way of managing breathing machines during back surgery can help protect the lungs. About 71 adults having lumbar stabilization surgery will be randomly assigned to either the new method or standard care. The goal is to see if the new approach leads to better lung function and fewer breathing problems after surgery.
