Summary
This study looked at how depression changes the way mothers interact with their babies and how that affects the child's thinking, emotions, and development. Researchers filmed 701 mothers and their infants at home and in a lab when the babies were 5, 12, and 24 months old. The goal was to understand differences between depressed and non-depressed mothers, not to test a treatment.
