Safety net tested to stop clots from traveling to lungs during leg vein surgery

NCT ID NCT06495996

Summary

This study tested a device called the Protrieve Sheath, which acts like a safety net in a major vein. It was used during procedures to remove dangerous blood clots from the legs (DVT) to catch any broken-off pieces before they could travel to the lungs and cause a serious complication. The goal was to see if this protective device was safe and effective for patients at high risk for this problem.
