New combo aims to stall bile duct cancer after chemo
NCT ID NCT06441747
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing whether combining two drugs—durvalumab (an immunotherapy) and olaparib (a targeted therapy)—can help keep advanced bile duct cancer from growing after initial chemotherapy. The study will enroll 40 adults with locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma who have not progressed on first-line treatment. Participants will receive the drug combination for up to 24 months, and researchers will monitor cancer progression, survival, and side effects.

What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a new maintenance option to help keep advanced bile duct cancer from progressing after initial chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
