First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This early study tests a new device that uses heat to treat the lining of the small intestine in people with type 2 diabetes who need insulin. The goal is to see if this procedure, alone or with a diabetes drug called semaglutide, can safely help them stop taking insulin and keep their blood sugar under control. Sixteen adults aged 18 to 65 with diabetes for 1 to 8 years are taking part.
