Scientists probe mysterious Post-Meal danger in newborns

NCT ID NCT04522193

Summary

This study aims to understand why some babies born with esophageal atresia develop dumping syndrome—a condition causing dangerous blood sugar drops after meals. Researchers will monitor 15 infants' heart rates, blood sugar levels, and stomach emptying patterns to uncover the underlying mechanisms. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better treatments for this difficult-to-diagnose condition.
