First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding duloxetine (a nerve pain drug) to tramadol (a painkiller) can better control chronic cancer pain and reduce the amount of tramadol needed. 400 adults with cancer pain who had not taken painkillers before took part. Half received duloxetine plus tramadol, the other half a placebo plus tramadol. The goal was to see if the combination leads to less tramadol use and better pain relief.
