Common antidepressant tested as Opioid-Sparing pain relief after hip surgery
NCT ID NCT06807866
Summary
This study is testing if the medication duloxetine (Cymbalta) can help reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers after total hip replacement surgery. Researchers will compare duloxetine to a placebo in 64 adults having this surgery. The main goal is to see if patients taking duloxetine use fewer opioid medications while managing their post-surgery pain effectively.
