Two-Hormone 'Pancreas' fights dangerous lows in diabetes
NCT ID NCT06082973
Summary
This study tested two versions of an automated insulin delivery system, often called an artificial pancreas, in 15 adults with type 1 diabetes. Researchers wanted to see if a system that automatically gives both insulin and a hormone called glucagon works better at preventing low blood sugar than a system that only gives insulin and suggests eating carbs. Each participant tried both systems during two separate 12-hour hospital stays that included a meal and unannounced exercise.
