First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special type of MRI called diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) can help doctors identify newborns with Krabbe disease who need urgent treatment. Researchers will scan the brains of 100 infants who tested positive for the disease and track their motor development over two years. The goal is to use DTI as an early warning tool to start treatment before serious damage occurs.
