Needles vs. botox: which eases stroke stiffness better?

NCT ID NCT06296082

First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026

Summary

This study compares two treatments—Botox injections and dry needling—for reducing leg stiffness (spasticity) after a stroke. About 90 people who had a first stroke within the past year will be randomly assigned to receive either one Botox session or 12 weekly dry needling sessions. Researchers will measure muscle reflexes and thickness before, during, and after treatment to see which approach works better.
