NCT ID NCT05706896

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests if injections of a substance made from umbilical cord blood (called platelet-rich plasma) can slow the worsening of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a common cause of vision loss in older adults. About 36 people aged 65 and older with dry AMD in both eyes will receive either the treatment or a sham injection. The goal is to see if the treatment can stop or slow the growth of damaged areas in the eye and possibly improve vision.
