Rhythm and control: can drumming help kids with down syndrome?

Summary

This study is testing whether two months of drumming lessons can help children with Down syndrome improve their self-control and timing skills. Researchers will measure changes in brain activity and behavior in 30 children aged 7-15 who receive professional drumming lessons. The study compares children who get lessons immediately with those who wait, using brain recordings and computer tasks to see if drumming makes a difference.
