Safety check: does new blood disorder drug mix safely with common meds?

NCT ID NCT06813924

Summary

This study tested whether a new drug called etavopivat, being developed for sickle cell disease and thalassemia, changes how the body processes five common medications. Thirty-seven healthy volunteers took etavopivat along with single doses of drugs like metformin, a statin, and a sedative. The goal was to measure drug levels in the blood to see if etavopivat makes these other medicines stronger, weaker, or stay in the body longer.
