Summary

This study tested a computer system called PRoSIT that automatically checks hospital discharge prescriptions for dangerous drug interactions. Researchers looked at nearly 5,800 prescriptions for patients aged 65 and older from heart, internal medicine, and neurology departments. The goal was to see how well the system could identify high-risk drug combinations to help doctors prescribe more safely.
