New drug duo aims to break cigarette addiction by boosting E-Cig switch
NCT ID NCT05205811
Summary
This study tested whether two prescription medications, zonisamide and bupropion, could help smokers completely switch from regular cigarettes to a JUUL e-cigarette. 180 adult smokers who wanted to switch were given the e-cigarette and then randomly assigned to receive either both medications, just bupropion, or placebo pills for 7 weeks. Researchers measured success by checking breath and urine for cigarette smoke chemicals and asking about daily use.
