Balloon treatment may help stabilize dangerous heart plaques
NCT ID NCT06416813
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a drug-coated balloon (a small balloon that delivers medicine to the artery wall) along with standard medications can help people who have had a heart attack or unstable chest pain (acute coronary syndrome) and also have fragile plaques in other heart arteries. About 140 participants will either receive standard care alone or standard care plus the balloon treatment. The main goal is to see if the balloon helps keep the artery more open after one year.
