Medical drones fly HIV drugs to isolated island communities

Summary
This study tests whether using medical drones to deliver HIV medication to people living in remote fishing communities on the islands of Kalangala District, Uganda, can help more people achieve an undetectable viral load compared to standard delivery methods. About 1,086 adults and teens living with HIV will take part, receiving their medication either by drone or usual care. Researchers will track viral suppression, retention in care, and costs over 24 months.
