First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether drinking 1.5 liters of extra water each day for a year could lower blood sugar in adults who showed signs of dehydration. About 800 people with high levels of a dehydration marker called copeptin took part. Half received extra water plus lifestyle advice, while the other half got only lifestyle advice. The main goal was to see if the water group had a greater drop in fasting blood sugar.
