Could a common diabetes drug shield your brain after a stroke?
NCT ID NCT07241897
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a diabetes drug called sentagliptin (a DPP4 inhibitor) can improve thinking and memory in people who have had a mild stroke and also have type 2 diabetes. About 312 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo daily for 180 days. Researchers will measure changes in cognitive tests to see if the drug reduces the risk of post-stroke cognitive impairment.
