First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a common diabetes drug (a DPP4 inhibitor) can help prevent or improve memory and thinking problems that often occur after a mild stroke. Researchers will give the drug or a placebo for 180 days to 312 adults aged 40-75 who have had a mild stroke and have type 2 diabetes. The goal is to see if the drug can protect brain function and reduce the risk of long-term cognitive decline.
