Could a common antibiotic shrink NF2 skin tumors without surgery?
NCT ID NCT05521048
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting doxycycline directly into skin tumors (schwannomas) can shrink them in people with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2). About 19 participants will receive the injections, and doctors will measure tumor size changes over time. The goal is to find a less invasive, lower-cost alternative to surgery for these painful or disfiguring growths.
