Can a common antibiotic dry up Post-Surgery fluid pockets?
NCT ID NCT07498010
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether injecting doxycycline, an antibiotic that can also scar tissue, helps treat fluid collections (seromas) that form after orthopedic surgery. Ten adults with a seroma will receive the injection and be followed to see if the fluid comes back or turns into scar tissue. The goal is to find a simple, non-surgical way to manage this common complication.
