Antibiotic injection trial aims to shrink Post-Surgery fluid pockets

NCT ID NCT07498010

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether injecting the antibiotic doxycycline can help treat persistent fluid collections (seromas) that sometimes form after knee or hip replacement surgery. The goal is to see if this injection can shrink these fluid pockets and reduce the need for repeated needle drainage or additional surgery. Researchers will measure if the fluid returns and check patients' pain and activity levels after the injection.
