Doulas get mental health training to help new parents cope

NCT ID NCT07217561

Summary

This study is testing whether training doulas (birth support professionals) to provide mental health support helps reduce anxiety and depression in pregnant and postpartum people. Researchers will compare 90 participants in Massachusetts whose doulas receive special mental health training versus those whose doulas provide usual care. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and acceptable while gathering early evidence about its impact on mental health.
