Can doulas break the cycle of abuse for pregnant women?
NCT ID NCT07165860
Summary
This study tests whether pairing pregnant survivors of intimate partner violence with specially trained doulas helps reduce abuse compared to standard support services. The research will follow 326 participants for 12 months, measuring changes in violence, mental health, and substance use. One group receives full doula support from pregnancy through early postpartum, while the other receives structured support from a victim services agency.
