Two shocks better than one? new trial aims to save more cardiac arrest victims

NCT ID NCT07174986

Summary

This study is testing if using two defibrillators in a specific way, right after the first standard shock fails, can save more lives from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. It will compare this 'double sequential defibrillation' strategy against continuing with standard single shocks. The goal is to see if this early, more aggressive approach leads to more patients surviving for 30 days after their cardiac arrest.
