Could donor breast milk help reset a Baby's gut after antibiotics?
NCT ID NCT05815433
Summary
This small, completed pilot study aimed to learn if giving donor human milk instead of formula helps the gut bacteria of healthy, full-term babies who were exposed to antibiotics during their mother's labor. Researchers compared two groups of about 30 babies each to see if donor milk led to different gut bacteria patterns, and also tracked infant growth, sleep, and maternal mood over 12 weeks. The goal was to gather initial evidence on whether this could be a beneficial practice for this specific group of infants.
