Stomach pill could be hidden key to taming type 1 diabetes blood sugar swings

NCT ID NCT06695962

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called domperidone, which helps the stomach empty faster, can improve blood sugar control in adults with Type 1 diabetes. Researchers want to see if treating a common but often unnoticed slow stomach emptying can help patients spend more time in their healthy blood sugar range. About 70 participants will take either domperidone or a placebo (sugar pill) for 28 days while wearing a continuous glucose monitor to track their blood sugar levels.
