Lying down vs. sitting up: which bladder test position is best for neurological patients?

NCT ID NCT05949567

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the position you are in during a bladder test (lying down vs. sitting up) changes the diagnosis of a condition called detrusor overactivity (uncontrolled bladder contractions). The study involves 160 people with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease who need a bladder test. The goal is to find out if lying down is just as good as sitting, which could make testing easier for patients who have trouble sitting or standing.
