Smart knee surgery: can High-Tech navigation make patients forget their new joint?

NCT ID NCT05863741

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether using personalized soft tissue balance data from the NextAR navigation system during knee replacement surgery helps patients feel more like their knee is natural. 100 adults with severe knee arthritis will be randomly assigned to receive either standard surgery or surgery guided by this system. The main goal is to see if patients can 'forget' about their new knee, meaning the joint feels so normal they don't notice it.
