Cancer prevention surgery may trigger early menopause, study investigates

NCT ID NCT07423143

Summary

This study aims to find out if removing the fallopian tubes during a hysterectomy causes women to reach menopause earlier. Researchers will follow 2,100 women who previously had hysterectomies, comparing those who had their tubes removed with those who didn't. Participants will mail in small blood samples twice to measure hormone levels and complete online questionnaires to track their menopausal status over time.
