First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether the temperature of the numbing medicine used in epidurals affects the chance of a mother developing a fever during labor. Researchers will give 424 women either room-temperature or body-temperature anesthetic and track fever rates, pain relief, and health outcomes for both mother and baby. The goal is to find a simple way to reduce fevers that can occur with epidurals.
