DNA test aims to predict painful side effects of prostate cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT04624256

Summary

This study is testing whether a genetic test can predict which prostate cancer patients are at high or low risk for serious urinary and bowel side effects from a specific type of radiation therapy. About 208 men with early-stage prostate cancer will take the test, and then discuss with their doctor which radiation treatment plan to follow. The goal is to see if having this genetic information helps patients and doctors make better treatment choices to avoid severe side effects.
