Dissolving stents could save limbs from amputation
NCT ID NCT07270575
Summary
This European study will test dissolving stents that release medication to keep leg arteries open in 400 patients with severe circulation problems that threaten limb loss. The temporary stents provide support while releasing drugs to prevent re-blockage, then naturally dissolve in the body. Researchers want to see if this approach works better than permanent metal stents in real-world medical settings.
