New surgical technique aims to prevent repeat slipped discs
NCT ID NCT07250581
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two surgical approaches for a herniated (slipped) disc in the lower back. One group gets standard surgery to remove the herniated part, while the other gets the same surgery plus a repair of the disc's outer ring. The goal is to see if repairing the disc reduces the chance of the disc herniating again and improves quality of life. The trial will enroll 300 people aged 12 to 65 who have not improved with non-surgical treatments.
