NCT ID NCT06023719
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a device called DISC Care, which is implanted during lumbar disc hernia surgery to prevent the hernia from coming back. Researchers are enrolling 30 people aged 18 to 75 who have a disc hernia between L4 and S1 and have not improved with other treatments. Participants will be followed for two years to see if the device is safe and reduces the chance of recurrence.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- DISC Care device (Hernia Blocking System)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this device could reduce the chance of a disc herniation coming back after surgery, potentially avoiding repeat operations.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device is new and its long-term safety and effectiveness are not yet proven.
