Which laparoscopy entry method is safer for scarred abdomens?
NCT ID NCT07473934
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study compares two common methods (direct trocar insertion vs. Veress needle insertion) for starting a laparoscopic procedure in people who have had prior abdominal or pelvic surgeries. The goal is to see which method is faster and safer, especially when scar tissue may make entry more challenging. About 88 adults with previous surgeries will be randomly assigned to one of the two techniques, and the total surgery time will be measured.
