Could a free kit in the mail beat colon cancer? 64,000 people put to the test

NCT ID NCT06032338

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether sending a colorectal cancer screening test directly to people's homes (without needing to order it) increases the number of people who get screened. About 64,000 adults aged 50-74 in central France will be randomly assigned to receive the test by mail or through the usual process. The goal is to see if direct mailing leads to more tests being completed and more follow-up colonoscopies when needed.
