New digital dental implant method aims to speed tooth replacement for seniors
NCT ID NCT07534514
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a fully digital approach to placing and loading dental implants in people aged 65 and older who need a tooth extracted. Using 3D imaging and computer-guided surgery, the implant is placed and a temporary tooth is attached within 48 hours. Researchers will track implant survival, bone changes, and patient satisfaction over 12 months to see if this method is reliable for older adults.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a faster, more accurate tooth replacement option for older adults, reducing treatment time and improving comfort.
