Text messages and community support tested to fight obesity in public housing
NCT ID NCT04852042
Summary
This study tested whether text messages about diet and exercise, combined with monthly phone calls from community health workers, could help residents of Boston public housing lose weight. Researchers compared three groups: text messages alone, text messages plus phone support, and a control group that received no intervention. The goal was to find effective ways to support weight management in communities with limited healthcare access.
