Ingestible sensor sends alerts to your phone to boost medication adherence
NCT ID NCT03512418
Summary
This study tested a new system to help people who use substances take their daily HIV prevention pill (PrEP) more consistently. Participants used a special 'digital pill' that sends a signal when swallowed, paired with a smartphone app that provided reminders and support. The goal was to see if this technology-based approach was practical and acceptable for improving medication adherence in a high-risk group.
