NCT ID NCT07135843

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 12-week digital exercise program, with or without personal coaching, can help adults aged 65 and older become more physically active after total hip replacement. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: the digital program with coaching, the digital program alone, or usual care. Physical activity will be measured using a body-worn sensor before surgery, 6 weeks after, and 6 months after.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
digital exercise program (KOKU app) with or without personal coaching
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective, low-cost way to improve recovery and physical activity in older adults after hip replacement.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial. The digital program may not be more effective than usual care, and results may not apply to all older adults.
