New app and spirometer could help COPD patients breathe easier at home

NCT ID NCT07573098

First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a digital tool that includes an app and a home spirometer to help people with COPD monitor their lung function daily. The goal is to see if the tool is easy to use, safe, and can help patients know when to seek medical care. Fifty adults with COPD who have had at least one flare-up in the past year will use the tool for six months. The study does not test a cure or treatment, but rather explores if this self-management approach is practical and helpful.
