Summary

This study tested a smartphone-based program that combines cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with medication (naltrexone) to help adults with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder reduce their drinking. About 242 employed adults with health insurance participated, and the program was compared to standard care. The goal was to see if the digital approach could lower alcohol use and improve mental health more effectively than usual treatment.
