Beetroot juice cocktail tested to tame high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT07242066
Summary
This study tested whether drinking beetroot juice (a source of nitrate) together with vitamin C could lower blood pressure and improve blood vessel health better than beetroot juice alone. It involved 15 overweight adults aged 50-75 who are at higher risk for heart problems. Researchers compared the effects of the combined supplement against beetroot juice by itself and a placebo over a short period.
