Can your diet tame a hidden heart risk from your gut?
NCT ID NCT02016430
Summary
This study aims to understand if changing what you eat can lower levels of a specific chemical (TMAO) made by gut bacteria, which is linked to higher risk for heart problems. Researchers will enroll about 170 adults, some with high levels of this chemical. They will measure the chemical in blood before and after participants follow a 12-week dietary plan.
