Scientists investigate if your diet and gut health affect muscle strength as you age

NCT ID NCT07211321

Summary

This study aims to understand the connections between diet, gut bacteria, and muscle loss (sarcopenia) in older adults. Researchers will collect information from 1,220 people aged 60 and over about their diet, test their gut bacteria, and measure their muscle strength and mass. The goal is to learn how diet-related inflammation might influence muscle health through changes in gut bacteria, which could help guide future nutrition advice.
