Scientists probe Gut-Brain link in Alzheimer's puzzle

NCT ID NCT05905822

Summary

This study aimed to understand how compounds from plants like cocoa might interact with the bacteria in our gut, and how this differs in people with different versions of a gene linked to Alzheimer's risk (APOE). It involved 49 healthy adults who provided saliva and stool samples for lab analysis. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about these complex interactions, not to test a treatment.
