Scientists test if losing weight or eating right is more important for health
NCT ID NCT04293224
Summary
This study aims to understand what matters more for improving heart and metabolic health: losing weight or eating a high-quality diet. Researchers will provide 70 adults with pre-obesity or obesity risk factors with different meal plans for 8 weeks, including healthy diets with and without weight loss, and a typical American diet with weight loss. They will measure changes in weight, body fat, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and even mood and thinking skills to see which approach leads to better health outcomes.
